QuizLok ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the QuizLok mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive limited profile information from those services.

Usage Data: We collect quiz completion data, scores, topic selections, and study progress to provide personalized learning experiences and track performance.

Device Information: We collect device push notification tokens to send you reminders and notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.

Subscription Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store credit card numbers or payment details. We receive subscription status information through RevenueCat to manage your access.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the QuizLok service
• To generate personalized AI-powered quizzes based on your selected topics
• To track your learning progress and display performance statistics
• To manage your subscription and free trial status
• To send push notifications (streak reminders, quiz completion alerts) if you opt in
• To manage app restrictions through the Screen Time API when configured by a parent or user

3. Third-Party Services

QuizLok uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Cloud database and authentication. Your account data and quiz history are stored securely on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat: Subscription management. Processes subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini / Anthropic Claude: AI quiz generation. Your selected topic names are sent to these AI services to generate quiz questions. No personal information is included in these requests.
• Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: Authentication providers. We receive only the information you authorize during sign-in.
• Expo Push Notifications: Notification delivery service. Your device push token is used solely for delivering notifications you have opted into.

4. Children's Privacy

QuizLok may be used by children under 13 when set up and supervised by a parent or guardian using the Family account mode. In Family mode:

• The parent or guardian creates and controls the account
• Child profiles are created by the parent and do not require a separate email or login
• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13
• All data associated with child profiles is managed through the parent's account
• Parents can review, modify, or delete their child's data at any time through the app

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us immediately at support@quizlok.com and we will promptly delete the information.

5. Screen Time and Device Activity Data

When the app restriction feature is enabled, QuizLok uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks) to manage app restrictions on the device. This data:

• Is processed entirely on-device by Apple's frameworks
• Is never transmitted to our servers or any third party
• Is never used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than enforcing the restrictions you configure
• Cannot be accessed by QuizLok beyond the restriction and timer functionality

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and quiz history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and row-level security policies on our database. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.
